NNSW Adventist Education

Macquarie College

Encouraging students to thrive

We believe that great learning is made possible when young people, their families and staff feel safe and happy. This precondition for learning and school community life is exemplified in our values of People, Growth and Fun, forming the basis of all that we do.

The Bridge

NNSW early learning centres and schools daily act as ‘bridges’, connecting communities to Christ, one heart at a time.

On this page you will find stored stories of impact, of connection and of BRIDGE building. Stories of celebration, stories of overcoming challenge, of embracing opportunity and of developing minds and connecting hearts: these are our stories of what being the BRIDGE looks like.

Early Learning

Macquarie College

Our preschool is located on the grounds of Macquarie College and caters for children in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley. We provide a caring and stimulating program encouraging children’s learning in both a nature-based and play-based environment, offering a holistic approach to education.

Our College values each child’s uniqueness and nurtures future growth by embracing the individual, acknowledging strengths and areas of interest, developing respectful interactions and positive guidance, supporting ongoing learning and inclusive programs, and promoting self-help skills, confidence, resilience and teamwork.

Primary Learning

Macquarie College

Our College’s Junior School is an Adventist primary school servicing Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley.

In the early years we develop critical foundations in literacy, numeracy and cognitive skills through play-based learning in a natural environment. As our students transition from Year 3 to Year 6, we provide increasing opportunities for them to direct their own learning and develop their own learning and develop their capabilities.

Secondary Learning

Macquarie College

Macquarie College’s Senior School is a place to thrive for students from across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley.

We support young people in achieving their best results across all aspects of their school life, including academic, creative, co-curricular and sporting competencies. As an Adventist Senior School, our Christian values also serve as the foundation of their school experiences, encouraging authentic and deep faith amongst our young people. We are constantly evolving, adopting an open-ended and multifaceted approach to teaching and learning that will benefit the futures of our young people.
